  • necst: (from necst)
The aim of the project is to explore research opportunities in the direction of distributed control systems in order to enhance the performance of diagnostics and fault tolerant control systems. This will lead to an improvement in the intensive use of NeCS technologies for the reactivity, autonomy and monitoring of large scale systems. The systems under consideration in the framework of this project can be considered as a distributed network of nodes operating under highly decentralised control, but unified in accomplishing complex system-wide goals. One of the key factors in designing such a complex system is that both the physical subsystem and the control part have to be designed together in an integrated manner. The systems developed in this project will be modular, adaptive, able to operate autonomously, and also possibly be reconfigurable. The implementation of these concepts is achieved by using the technologies of wireless networks, embedded systems, nomad components, electronics tags, etc...

  • SOA7: (from SOA7)
The Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) provides a rich development environment to perform information, application, process, and infrastructure integration, and develop applications more rapidly by reusing existing software assets. As such, the SOA can inherit and build upon the tools and methods of related approaches to integration and software engineering. We propose a new model called “SOA7” for the Service-Oriented Development of Applications (SODA), integrating 7 key enterprise IT practices and standards into a coherent methodology and toolbox to develop Service Oriented Business Applications (SOBA). We relate the SOA to such technologies as Enterprise Architecture (EA), Business Process Management (BPM), Model Driven Architecture (MDA), Event Driven Architecture (EDA), Semantic Web, Grid Computing, and Business Services Networks (BSN). We conclude with an outline of “SOA7” as a set of SODA capabilities, blending the tools and methods of these enterprise technologies with those of the SOA.

To fulfil this continuous input of all the partners is necessary. The decision taken is not to provide a data-base where all partners can dump and find (or not find) informations, but trying to structure information, update it continuously and put in on places where they can easily be found (not more than two clicks). All partners are asked to send their documents and suggestions to ametist@cs.utwente.nl. Some of the documents on the AMETIST-web-pages are only for internal use and when you send a document, please indicate, whether you want restricted access or not.
