- PC104p-Biserial-III: (from Dynamic Engineering)
- PC/104p-BiSerial-III PC/104p Compatible Bi-Directional Serial / Parallel Data Interface with DMA
The BiSerial features large internal "BLOCK RAM" which can be used for FIFO or Dual Port RAM. The larger Spartan III® contains the PCI interface with DMA and the state-machines for your design. If deeper FIFOs are required; completely isolated FIFOs with 32 bit ports for increased adaptability and performance are available. 16 - 40 MHz 485 buffers with programmable termination and direction can be configured to your systems requirements. The expanded faster FPGA will implement the most complex state-machines. Many of the designs implemented for the PMC and IP versions can be ported to the PC/104p.
- PC104pPWR12: (from Dynamic Engineering)
- The PC104pPWR12 power supply provides for the +5, +3.3, +12, minus 12 and minus 5 from a 12V wall mount transformer supply, battery etc. Each rail is fuse protected. The supply uses switching technology to provide high efficiency, coupled with low pass filtering to provide low noise and fast response to transient loads.
The PCI VIO is programmable allowing 5V or 3.3V PC104p cards to be used. Many PC104p and PCI-104 cards are universal and can work with 3.3 or 5V PCI definitions. A shunt is provided for the user to select 5V or 3V operation.
The power is routed from the power supplies to connectors with mini-planes each of which is rated for more than the maximum draw. The total power dissipation is limited to the external power supply capabilities. Each rail can draw to the maximum to cover situations where the power utilization is not balanced. 8A max current on 5V, 8A max current on 3.3V, 4A max current on -12, 4A from +12V. The VIO is selected from the 3.3 or 5V supply after the fuse and is included in the 8A available on those rails.
The default is for the 3.3 then 5 then -12 then -5 power rails to be energized. The rails are delayed relative to one another by several mS to reduce the inrush current requirement. - Emerald-MM-Plus PC/104 Serial Communication Module: (from Diamond Systems Corporation)
- Emerald-MM-8Plus is a high performance multi-protocol serial communications board offering eight ports on a single PC/104-Plus module. Supporting baud rates up to 921.6K bps in RS-232 mode or 1.8432Mbps in RS422 or RS485 mode, each port can be individually selected for RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 or TTL level operation. Both local-echo and non-local-echo modes are supported for RS-485. Protocol selection is achieved via a jumper block for each of the eight ports. Line termination for RS-422/485 modes is also jumper-selectable.
Configuration of the Emerald-MM-8Plus is simple, using the built-in plug and play technology. For manual configuration, the base address for the board may be set in software, defining a 4K block of configuration space used to access the on-board registers. A single 32-bit read shows the detailed interrupt status for each of the eight ports. The PCI “slot” is defined through a jumper block. As with all Diamond Systems products, jumpers are paralleled with locations for zero ohm resistors to create a rugged, shock-and- vibration-resistant implementation.
Emerald-MM-8Plus is based on the Exar 17D158 octal UART IC. This device contains 8 4 identical sets of 16C55registers, one for each port, and is compatible with the standard PC serial port. Each port contains 64-byte transmit and receive FIFOs to support the high-speed data rates.
Emerald-MM-8Plus also offers 8 convenient digital I/O lines. The direction of each line is independently programmable. Finally, Emerald-MM-8Plus also offers a 16-bit programmable counter / timer with a configurable clock source.
Two I/O headers are provided, with four serial ports and four digital I/O lines on each header. The board operates on +5V only, eliminating the need for a +12V supply that is often required for serial port operation.
- GPIO-MM-12 PC/104 Digital I/O & Counter Module: (from Diamond Systems Corporation)
- GPIO-MM-12 is part of a family of reconfigurable digital I/O and counter / timer modules with various port and pin configurations. Each board uses identical hardware with a 200K gate Xilinx Spartan II RAM-based FPGA. The varying configurations are based on different FPGA code. The FPGA code is stored in a flash memory on the board, enabling GPIO-MM-12 to be reprogrammed in the field with different designs, including custom designs.
The GPIO-MM-12 configuration provides 48 digital I/O lines and 10 programmable counter/timers. The counter/timer features are based on our legacy Quartz-MM board, while the 48 digital I/O lines are compatible with our legacy Garnet-MM board. This configuration combines the features of both these boards into one board to reduce your PC/104 stack size and cost.
Other GPIO-MM configurations provide up to 96 digital I/O lines.
- Hammerhead-PC/104-Plus: (from BittWare, Inc.)
- Quad ADSP-21160 PC/104-Plus board. BittWare´s Hammerhead-PC/104-Plus (HHP4) board packs the lightning-fast processing power of two ADSP-21160 SHARC DSPs and the speed of a 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI interface onto a PC/104-Plus format card. Up to 64-512 MB SDRAM is available to both processors for general-purpose code and data storage, and 2 MB of FLASH memory is available on an 8-bit peripheral bus. The HHP4 incorporates BittWare's SharcFIN ASIC, which flexibly interfaces the ADSP-21160 DSPs to the 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI bus, the SDRAM, the FLASH memory, and a peripheral bus. It also provides a feature-rich set of DMA functions and interrupt options to support very high-speed, real-time data flow with minimum processor overhead. The HHP4 board is configured with two 80 MHz ADSP-21160 DSPs, each of which features 4 Mbits of on-chip, dual-ported SRAM. The ADSP-21160s are code-compatible with the ADSP-2106x SHARC DSPs, making it easier to integrate existing code. The ADSP-21160 DSPs share a common 40 MHz, 64-bit cluster bus, which gives them access to the board´s SDRAM, the PC/104-Plus PCI interface, and the other SHARC processor. For additional I/O, each processor also has four flags, three interrupts, six link ports, and two serial ports.

Parvus’ ISA to PC/104 Bus Adapter enables a 16-bit ISA-based PC host system to interface with 16-bit PC/104 modules in a direct bus-to-bus link. Developers can use the adapters to inexpensively develop and test PC/104 modules on an ISA-based computer with desktop software tools. All signals found on the PC/104 bus operate with the same purpose and function as their ISA bus (IEEE-P996) counterparts and provide data transfers at full PC/AT transfer rates.
This adapter is designed to fit a 16-bit ISA backplane. It comes with a metal PC card bracket, gold plated ISA card edge connectors, 104-pin PC/104 header, and nylon PC/104 stand-offs for securely mounting a PC/104 card to the adapter. - The PCI-104, PC104p, PC104 Chassis comes in base sizes : 5-11 slots [an extrusion is used for the main body of the chassis making any length possible]. The models are adaptable to allow 1,2,3,4, or 5 cards to be mounted in the 5 slot unit and any number up to 11 in the larger units. In a typical system the first position in the stack would be the power supply, the second the CPU and the rest IO or storage. With the range of cards available for PCI-104, PC104, PC104p and IP available most applications can be implemented with off the shelf hardware and a chassis. The PC104pPWR12 can make a good power supply for PCI-104, PC104 and PC104p stacks or stacks with mixed cards. The chassis is flexible and works with any assortment of cards.

- The PC104p2PMC ( PCI-104 to PMC ) adapter / carrier converter card provides the ability to install a PMC card into a standard PCI-104 slot. Suitable for 32 bits with 33 or 66 MHz bus operation. The PMC front panel connector is mounted though the PCI mounting bracket.
The PCI bus is buffered with 10 ohm series resistors and clamped with Schotky diodes. The PCI clock is distributed with a zero delay buffer. The PC104p2PMC design is passive with no added delays to access the PMC hardware. The traces are carefully routed with proper attention paid to the impedance and reference planes to maximize compatibility with your PCI system. The PC104p2PMC is based on the legacy of the PCI2PMC, PCIBPMC, and cPCI versions. The passive design of the PC104p2PMC reduces system latency.
The PCI bus is interconnected to the PMC is a 66 MHz capable layout.
The PCI VIO is interconnected to the PMC directly. The PCI-104 backplane will determine the bus voltage reference. The voltage select pins are not installed on the PC104p2PMC and it is left to the user to properly select the PMC and PCI104 stack components for PCI voltage level considerations. Many PMCs are universal and can work with 3.3 or 5V PCI backplanes.

- If you want to use IndustryPack¨ modules with your PC/104+ system then the PC104p4IP is the choice for you. The PC104p4IP combines features you need with simplicity and speed. Up to 4 IP modules can be installed. 32 bit and double wide modules fit right in. Each slot has independent operation - control, clocking, IO, power filtering and protection. The PC104p4IP is highly integrated with the PCI and IP interfaces closely coupled within the same FPGA. As a result the PC104p4IP is faster, has a higher MTBF, and is easier to use than competing designs. There are fewer initialization steps and fewer PCI addresses to deal with and yet there are more features to work with. With the Windows¨XP driver; operation can be "plug and play".

The new features include Byte and Word Swapping, Bus error status for each slot independently, and 32 IP support. Shipping now. Multi-board operation is supported. With multiple PC104p4IPs in your system and unique cabling, sensors etc. for each slot on each PC104p4IP it is important to "know" which PC104p4IP is which and to properly control the IP modules mounted to them. A surface mount "dip switch" is provided which provides an identifier to the software. A specific PC104p4IP can be matched up with the PCI address allocated to make for deterministic control. The switch can also be used for other purposes; configuration control or debugging for example. The switch values are available to be read via the PCI bus.
Each slot has a separate clock controller for 8 and 32 MHz operation. The clocks are locked together for the four slots plus the state-machine. Glitch free operation means the frequency can be be changed on the fly. Series and parallel terminations with equal length traces insure clean clocks and coherant operation across the 4 IPs and the controlling state-machine. A well designed clock distribution is critical for reliable operation.

- ThermoCool™ PC/104 Environmental Fan II: (from parvus Corporation)
- PRODUCT INFORMATION
The ThermoCool™ PC/104 Environmental Fan Card II provides thermostat-controlled forced-air cooling together with environmental monitoring of temperature, humidity and pressure conditions to increase reliability of embedded PC/104 computer systems, particularly in enclosed applications.
In a thermostatic function, the board’s two high efficiency, brushless fans turn on and off, responding to changing temperature conditions while conserving power and increasing product life when not in use. In a sealed enclosure, the board can reduce or eliminate the need for outside air exchange. Air is driven in a push-pull circular cooling pattern around the board and adjacent PC/104 modules. Each fan can alternatively be reversed (flipped over) to create a push-push or pull-pull movement of air.
Besides providing thermal management, the Environmental Fan Card II integrates capacitive humidity and atmospheric pressure sensors, which can be used as alarm indicators of moisture and pressure changes within an enclosed PC/104 system. The board's humidity sensor measures from 1-99% relative humidity with instantaneous desaturation, and its pressure sensor delivers a highly accurate, linear voltage output directly proportional to applied pressure (0-29 PSI) - with precise span and offset calibration, as well as temperature compensation.
Other features include an elapsed time counter, two Form C relays, two digital inputs, four or seven analog inputs, LED activity indicator, configuration jumpers, Windows® 9x/NT/2000/XP drivers and a software test utility to enable the module to control external devices and integrate into a variety of complex environmental management schemes. Also included is onboard EEPROM scratch memory to provide the board with a unique serial number (for system identification) and permanent storage for configuration or maintenance information. Its elapsed time recorder / real-time clock detects and records the total time with power on and the number of times the unit has been turned on and off (power cycles). It also incorporate 10bytes of user-configurable EEPROM memory. This is particular useful for time-of-use warranty, calibration, repair, and maintenance requirements.
This product is available in two versions: Part number PRV-0509-06 includes all three sensors (temperature, pressure, humidity) for a complete environmental monitoring and control solution, while PRV-0509-07 comes with a temperature sensor only (no humidity or pressure). An optional cable set (PRV-0509-08) with an external digital temperature sensor is available for either board if remote fan management is desired.
